Elector of Brandenburg permits the foundation of Sozietät der Wissenschaft (a society of science) in Berlin.

Leibniz is elected the president of the Society. The only income of it was from the sales of calendars.

a study in binary number and I Ching, deciphers the latter with the former. Published in Mémoires de l'Académie de Science de Paris (this issue is put into print 1705).
